  • During defecation or urination, the sacred thread should be put on the right ear and One should remove it only after cleaning the hands. Its basic meaning is that the sacred thread It should be above the waist and should not be impure. This is very important.
  • If any thread of the sacred thread breaks or it is more than 6 months old, then it should be replaced. A broken idol should not be kept on the body. If the threads start becoming raw and dirty, then it is advisable to replace them beforehand.
  • There is a tradition to change it after the period of mourning for birth or death in the house.
  • The sacred thread is not taken out of the body. To clean it, it is tied in the throat. We wash it by rotating it while still wearing it. If it comes off by mistake, then there is a need for atonement. There is a rule of chanting or changing the rosary. 
  • When the child becomes capable of following these rules, then only his Yagyopaveet Sanskar should be performed.
